Who are they?

Paganism is explored in the third book Fallen Beech where Franz and Lukas play an important role. We see that the myth of Tyr subduing Fenrir the wolf is symbolically acted out in that the cruelty of Lukas and the combined efforts of the angels defeats the bestial nature in Franz. Within Whispering Birches, the characters each symbolize a part of the Eddic Poem whether it be breath of a fish or spittle of the bird that together combine to make up the fetter called Gleipnir, which binds Fenrir. We also see in Lukas the character of Tyre who becomes a man-god with no right arm.
